It started with knowledge, skill, and experience.

When I brought my climbing shoes and walking boots to Eric for repair, I was struck not just by the quality of his work, but by his deep understanding of how footwear needs to perform.

Having trained as a carpenter in my youth, I've always enjoyed working with my hands. One day, I simply asked Eric to show me how it was done. That curiosity sparked something deeper - I was looking for a vocation, and I'd found it.

For the last 18 months or so, Eric has been teaching me the craft he's been perfecting since 1970. He and his wife Katherine established the business in 1984, and I've slowly taken over while Eric remains close by, sharing over five decades of expertise as I continue to learn.

What draws me most is the deep satisfaction that comes with the work - understanding exactly what each boot or shoe needs, having the skills to deliver it, and bringing a smile to our customers' faces when they see a job well done. I'm proud to be building on decades of craftsmanship while bringing my own passion for maintaining the performance and longevity of quality footwear.
